Recap

Released in 2010, Manga Rock was the product with the most amount of users at NAB Studio, allowing comic fans to read comics for free. Revenue came from ads and a one-time premium upgrade to remove ads and unlimited download slots.

In 2013, recognizing that a lot of the target audience for Manga Rock – comic fans who were reading manga on scanlation websites – were actually using Android phones instead of iPhones, I was tasked with the design of Manga Rock app for Android. It was similar to the iOS version in most of the functionality and style, except for a hamburger menu for navigating different parts of the app – a signature Android element at the time. The design was done in Adobe Illustrator.

Later that year, I worked on adding more features to Manga Rock Android, including a thumbnail view for browsing comics and cloud-based account management to backup and restore user data. The design was done in Adobe Illustrator.
